Where are you sunshine?

I guess its that time of year, the good news is that it gets better from here.

1. Michigan winters suck. I hate being cold. Its fun to talk about the prospects of an NFL playoff game in 4 degree weather but is less fun to experience.

2. Its dark when I get up and its dark when I drive home. At least we are on the happy side of the winter solstice.

3. Getting used to a puppy is harder than I thought. Every spare minute is spent making sure he is not either peeing, pooping, eating foam or finding something the vacuum didn't pick up.

4. I'm in the middle of back to back 5 day work weeks. While Monday is Martin Luther King Day (in the North at least) when you get about 40 days off per year, the 5 day week-ers are rough! (Maybe this one is a positive)

5. I haven't read a book in 6 weeks. I've talked about my reading cycles before, this part of the cycle is always the worst.

6. Have you seen the stock market? If you haven't, you'd better not look.

Like I said, in all of these cases it will only get better. Amy's new internship at the Detroit Regional Chamber has started off well and she is only 3 months away from graduation. With all the frustrations that come to me during this time of year, the fact that I am doing so well is something I'm very excited about!

So I apologize for the recent neglect of my blog and those of my FMB buddies. Don't worry , I'm still here.

How's this winter treating you?

Just wanted to thank you for stopping by My View of "It" and leaving a comment.
I agree that unless Obama is a nominee Michigan will be a Red State.
Hang in there, Winter's almost over.....

Hey buddy!

It's dreary here too but we are seeing more sunlight these days... Get a bell for your door that he can reach ring it each time you take him outside. He will get used to it and start using it to let you know he's got to potty. As for the chewing, i found that this Bitters stuff from petsmart works great. i sprayed it on things that i don't want gus to chew on and then when i caught him chewing i sprayed directly in his mouth... Dogs make faces! It was gunny but they haven't chewed since. my thoughts on the puppy...Kenneling works good too. Gus will make a mess during the day unless he is in his kennel. He likes going in there even when the door is open. I heard that some dogs like it because they feel more secure. I dunno. Zoe didn't like it. She hids in his kennel with him when they are in trouble.

He had another accident last night and I almost lost it. It's definitely a big responsibility but it comes with its benefits too. You poor thing, Gen. How can you deal with those temperatures in the 40s and 50's. Awwww :)

Icey shit is sweeping the Hudson River Valley again. Yeehaw.

Hang in there with Sampson. I dog sat for three puppies (separate occasions)needing to be housebroken. One got into the adult food, and--hand drippy brown goodness all over the house.

There is a reason why they make puppies so damn cute.
