For some reason, during the past two weeks I have become increasingly interested in Hot Sauce. I knew I had a relatively high tolerance to the heat of hot sauces since I often get the blazin' sauce at Bw's and had been handling my Blair's after death sauce for some time.
What I was surprised to learn about was how many different hot sauces and extracts are out there. There are even people that do some serious collecting and are willing to pay some serious money for these exotic and extremely hot sauces.
The heat of a hot sauce is most commonly discussed in terms of Scoville units. If memory serves me right, a jalepeno is about 5,000 scoville units. For reference the blazin sauce at bws is reportedly between 200,000 and 350,000 scoville units.
The Sauce I just purchased was Mad Dog 357 with a reported 357,000 scoville units. This stuff is awesome, and very hot! While with delivery charges it cost me over 14 bucks I'm glad I got it. It brought heat to a new level for me and really got my endorphins rushing.
So I am already on the lookout for my next hot sauce. I really like the look of Satan's Blood and am also considering Magma and a few others, pushing the scoville units higher. I'll let you know how it turns out! I'd love to here YOUR experiences with hot sauces and any recommendations you may have.

Liquor Connoisseur
I've been wanting to start a website for sometimes but for one reason or another, whether it be lack of knowledge, software, a good idea or a partner it hasn't happened to this point.
Two weeks ago I was sitting with two of my friends both of whom are relatively savvy in one way or another. Bram has been one of my best friends for years and has become a successful pneumatics salesman. Josh, is a sociology major who has always impressed me with his knowledge of so many different issues.
I had been thinking it for a while but I finally asked; "Do you guys want to start a business together". It was as if all of us were waiting for someone else to say it. Immediately everyone was shaking their heads yes and we plunged right in.
Josh first came up with the idea of creating an infomercial for dog training that would run late at night. While I'm sure he had given some thought to this, immediately Bram and I thought maybe we had not chosen our partner wisely.
Bram and I then started discussing an idea we had from about two years ago. Right around the time Myspace was really gaining popularity and facebook came to Eastern Bram and I thought there was a market for a social networking slash vacation site. We had all sorts of ideas and I still feel this will be a big website for somebody. After about a weeks worth research and prep we kind of figured out for ourselves that we are no where near being able to put something like this together. To this point just getting a dreamweaver template page up and running is a challenge. Maybe in the future though.
Still inspired though admittedly a bit discouraged a racked my brain trying to think of an idea for a webpage. Moreover, an idea that hasn't already been done thousands of times.
What I came up with was a (and don't laugh, here me out)site that was packed with information about liquors. From history of each drink to the way they are made to the cultures that enjoy them. I thought to myself; self, I'm sure this has been done thousands of times. When I looked online though I only saw a few examples of this, ALL of which left much to be desired.
Rejuvenated, I called emailed Bram with the idea. He seemed to like it and I went ahead and reserved the domain liquorconnoisseur.com. Its going to be a lot of work, a lot of research but, if Bram stays on board we can push each other through the tough times.
Initially I had thought we could have the site up and running in three months with 1,000 dollar investment. I gave that estimate to Bram based on nothing but he though it sounded reasonable.
Bram has been out of town most of the last two weeks and is supposed to be back today. I am hoping that we can meet either tonight or tomorrow to discuss the things I've been working on. One of the first steps for us is to actually incorporate or start a limited liability company. In theory this website would just be our first try at a host of different ideas. We have already begun to look at foreclosed tax auctions and vacant land. Plus, it'll just make it sound more permanent and not just this pie in the sky thingy.
Stay tuned.
